Public Messaging, BCI Education, & Regulatory Science Education that Could Support Policy
Public understanding and acceptance of iBCIs are critical for the technology's widespread adoption. This Workgroup is motivated by the need to develop a coherent and effective framework for communicating the benefits, risks, and ethical considerations of iBCIs to the public. Educating the public is essential to address misconceptions and build trust in this emerging field. Additionally, regulatory science education is crucial to ensure that all stakeholders, including developers, clinicians, and regulators, are equipped with the knowledge needed to navigate the complex landscape surrounding iBCIs.
This Workgroup seeks to fill the gap in public knowledge and educate a variety of audiences for the widespread understanding of iBCI capabilities.
